A quiet sunrise in London capturing Ming-lai & Ho’s love before their wedding day

Ming-lai and Ho were planning their October wedding and, like a lot of UK couples, had one little worry sitting in the background - the weather ☁️

Would it rain? Would it be cloudy? Would it affect the photos they’d been dreaming about?

But there was also something else that mattered more to them: time.

Their wedding was intentionally intimate, surrounded by their favourite people. And they really didn’t want to spend a big chunk of the day away from their guests for portraits.

So instead, we planned something a little different; a pre-wedding photoshoot in London, a few months before their wedding day.

And honestly… it was such a beautiful decision 🤍

6am in London feels magical 🌅

We met at around 6am in mid-summer, when London is still quiet and soft and a little bit sleepy.
And I always say this, but there’s something really special about early morning London photoshoots.

The city hasn’t fully woken up yet. Everything feels slower. Gentler. Like you’ve been given a little pocket of time to yourself.
No crowds. No rushing. Just space to breathe and actually be present together.

It also meant Ming-lai and Ho could ease into being in front of the camera before the wedding day - which honestly makes such a difference later on.

Less nerves. More comfort. More real moments ✨

Tower Bridge pre-wedding photos before the city wakes up 🌉

We started at Tower Bridge while everything was still quiet.

Doing a Tower Bridge pre-wedding photoshoot in London at sunrise is always something I love - because it strips everything back.

No tourists. No distractions. Just the two of them, soft light, and this really calm atmosphere over the city.
And I think that’s when it really clicked for them.

No pressure. No performance. Just them being together 🤍

Just walking, just being together

From there, we didn’t rush anywhere.
We just walked.

And I always think this is where the best moments happen - not in the “planned” poses, but in everything in between.

It turns a shoot into something that feels more like a morning together, rather than a photoshoot.
We wandered through London towards St Katharine Docks, letting the city slowly wake up around us.

And it was honestly just… really peaceful 🌿

The sweetest kind of connection 💛

What I loved most about Ming-lai and Ho was how naturally they were with each other.
They weren’t overthinking anything. They weren’t trying to “do it right”.

They were just together - in their own little world.

And that’s always what I’m looking for in natural pre-wedding photography in London.
Not idolising perfection. Just connection.

The little looks. The quiet moments. The way they naturally fall into each other without thinking.
That’s the good stuff ✨

Why a pre-wedding shoot in London actually helps

For Ming-lai and Ho, this wasn’t just about photos - it genuinely helped shape their wedding experience.
It meant:
  • they felt relaxed in front of the camera before the big day
  • no pressure to rush portraits on their wedding day
  • more time with their guests
  • and a really calm, familiar start to everything

A pre-wedding photoshoot in London like this can really take away a lot of unknowns, and replace them with ease 🤍

A little reminder 🌷

There’s something really special about slowing things down.

Ming-lai and Ho’s morning in London was simple, quiet, and unforced. Just soft light, empty streets, and two people who were completely comfortable with each other.
And sometimes, that’s all you really need for beautiful photos.
